Rihanna Talks Barbed Wire on Rated R Album Cover

November 21, 2009 by Lauren Croteau

Rihanna has been facing a little bit of criticism for the cover of her new album, Rated R due to the fact that she is covered in nothing but barbed wire in the cover photo. However, Rihanna i defending herself and doesn’t see anything wrong with it.

During a radio interview Rihanna said, “I definitely thought the barbed wire was cool. It was a symbol of strength but fearlessness all at once, that’s why we used it."

She says that getting the barbed wire around her wasn’t easy, "We took our time and wrapped that barbed wire around me. It took forever because we had to wrap it round the front of me a few times more than the rest of me so that it would cover the necessary."

I really don’t see what the big issue is. People act as if they’ve never seen skin before.
