Island Def Jam is releasing a compilation album of some great remixes, edits and dance mixes for your enjoyment. The album is called “Just Dance” and will be released today, May 26th. It’s been announced that Rihanna is one of the confirmed artists who’s remixed hit song “Disturbia” will be featured on the album. The exact remix on the CD is the Jody den Broeder Remix, which you can listen to below! It’s a cool dance mix, pretty typical.

Have you guys the ballad version of Rihanna’s 2008 song “Disturbia”? It was released a little while ago. It’s not an official remix or anything, but I thought it’d be fun to listen to. It’s slower than the original and they’ve changed up the beat a little bit. Once you get farther into the song, it doesn’t differ too much from the original.

I personally like it and I think it sounds cool. I like the strong beat of the original, but this is cool too. Listen to it below and let me know what you think.

The nominees for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards will be announced on December 3rd, but will we be seeing a nomination for Rihanna? After the numerous smash hits that she’s delivered to listening audiences this year, it’s hard to imagine Rihanna coming home without a trophy to put on her mantle.

I don’t expect “Take a Bow” to be among the nominees for Record of the Year, but it may be in the R&B category. It did jump 52 spots, all the way to #1, on the Billboard Hot 100 this year. Though that single did great, her song with T.I., “Live Your Life“, has broken records and has done better than most, if all, the collaborations in 2008, so I think at least, they could be nominated for best R&B collab. At the very least.

I do expect “Disturbia” to be nominated. It has done so well on all the charts, and has been named by many as the “Thriller” of it’s time.  I think it could be nominated for Record of the Year simply for how popular it has become.  With competition like Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl“, Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida“  and Leona Lewis‘ “Bleeding Love“, it’s hard to say she’ll win with any of her songs, but I’d say she’s got quite a great chance.

So, we’ll see happens! If Rihanna goes home with nothing, I’ll be very, very surprised. What do you think? Does Rihanna have a chance at a Grammy this year?

On June 17th, Rihanna will re-release her album Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded with a hand full of new songs including this new track “Disturbia.”

Sticking with her winning combo of dance and pop with a touch of European feel, it’s definitely radio-friendly and catchy. Very catchy.
