Recently, we saw photos of Rihanna getting tattooing lessons at East Side Ink in New York City where she was seen working on the tattoo artists. However, this has now caused the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to launch an investigation into the situation.

The department told MTV News yesterday, "Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City’s Health Code. We are sending someone to follow up on this."

Rihanna is currently in trouble for tattooing someone without a license. She could face fines including $300 for the first offense, $500 for the second and $1,000 for the third offense. Not only might Rihanna be facing some legal issues but the tattoo parlor, East Side Ink could also be encountering some issues.

Yadira, who owns the place, said that Ri-Ri hadn’t entered the parlor in hopes of inking some tats but rather was just there having fun when one thing led to another. She reportedly inked three tattoo artists including BangBang who often provides her with her own tattoos.

Yadira says Rihanna was there with friends and a bodyguard for “a few hours, just hanging out and joking. We had a blast. It was so funny and cute."

Yikes! This has got to be one of the worst years Rihanna has had. What next? She’s going to get in trouble for Jaywalking?! With her luck, it very well could happen!

Rihanna, who has her fair share of tattoos, was taking tattooing lessons at East Side Ink at the East Village of New York City yesterday. I thought she was looking cute and she was full of smiles! All the black she’s been wearing is getting kind of repetitive, but I can deal with it.  Interesting that she would want to take tattooing lessons.

Recently, Rihanna was spotted with Steve Stoute, an important record executive who works for a company called Translation. This company matches singer spokespersons with promotion oriented corporations. Seems like Rihanna’s working hard to make sure she’s getting as much coverage as possible!

Allegra Versace, daughter to famous fashion designer Donatella Versace, celebrated her 23rd birthday on June 29th. Among the guests who were invited to her birthday party was Rihanna, who attended the event held at the Gramercy Park Hotel. Of course, Ri-Ri had to go in style so she chose to wear something high fashion.

I thought she looked pretty good! I love how the top is form fitting and accentuates her feminine curves. The skirt is sexy and even her hair looked great. I like the idea of the whole outfit just being black and white. Very nice! Are you guys liking her outfit?

Yesterday, Rihanna enjoyed her lunch in New York City at the upscale Chinese restaurant called, Philippe Chow. Ri-Ri grabbed the best table in the restaurant and lunched with singer, Santigold. She was looking cute yesterday! I like that she brushed her hair down. The jean shorts are cute and the top is nice for summer. To top it off she threw a smile and some waves in the direction of the paparazzi.

Last night, the 2009 BET Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Rihanna was not in attendance last night and neither was T.I., who was in jail, however, they still won the award  for Viewers’ Choice. The song that got them there was their collaborative hit single “Live Your Life.” Not surprised that it won at all! It got so popular.

Since neither Rihanna nor T.I. were there, his wife, Tameka Cottle got up on stage and accepted the award on his behalf. Congrats to T.I. and Rihanna!

After suffering a brutal attack at the hands of her former boyfriend, Chris Brown, Rihanna was left bruised bloodied and was left almost unconscious on the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. After being charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, Chris Brown has not been sentenced to jail. Instead he faces 5 years of probation, 180 days of community labor and a no-contact clause.

Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty is less than pleased about the court’s decision. He thinks that they should have given Chris jail time. According to him, Chris got off easy.

He complains, "Chris should have been sent to jail for what he did to my girl. He’s got off lightly. Chris put her through hell, she’s just relieved it’s all over."

I can’t really say that I disagree with him. I though his sentence might have been a little to lenient. I mean, he really almost killed her. What do you guys think? Did Chris get away easy?

On June 22nd, a judge ruled that Chris Brown was not to have contact with Rihanna and is only permitted to be within 50 yards of her. This court came to this ruling after Chris attacked is girlfriend Rihanna on the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. However, the two supposedly find this ruling “ridiculous.”

A friend of them both had this to say of their opinions of the protection clause, "They think it’s unnecessary and ridiculous. After [the proceeding], Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends. They’re solid now."

They are both set to attend the 2009 BET Awards, which will be held tomorrow. At such industry events, the judge has allowed Chris Brown to stay a minimum of 10 yards away from Ri-Ri.

Though the two find it unnecessary to adhere to the protection laws, they supposedly have no desire to remain a romantic item. "That’s 100% done. They aren’t looking to hook back up again. They’re both moving on and going their separate ways," says the source.

The paparazzi caught up with Rihanna as she out and about yesterday. They asked her about what she thought of Michael Jackson passing away, to which she said nothing. However, later in the day she was seen dressed in all black.  It’s so unfortunate what happened. The world has seriously lost one of it’s greatest talents. I’m sure she was likely affected by what happened. She has said in the past that Michael Jackson was one of her inspirations. It’s so sad.

Recently a song has been floating around the internet by Chris Brown called “Not My Fault.” People have been making a big deal about it, saying that the song is about Brown’s situation with former girlfriend, Rihanna. However, a rep from Jive Records said in a statement, "There are several old demos circulating that are being falsely promoted as new material from Chris."

Some of the lyrics in the song are, "When I first met you, I told ya that you’ll be safe. In the midst of arguing something, falls to the floor and breaks. You look down and see what you dropped, oh, it’s your heart. Shortie’s caught up from a long night. She’s ready to fall but she’s all right. That’s just something that can happen when you put it down. She’s caught up, it’s not my fault, right."

It does sound a bit like Chris is talking about Rihanna in the song, but I guess he’s not! You can listen to it below!

I’m so tired of hearing the term “just friends”. It’s not even funny. So, yes, Rihanna’s newest rumored love interest, a Canadian rapper by the name of Aubrey “Drake” Graham is claiming that there is nothing romantic going on between him and the singer, despite rumors that they had been seen kissing recently.

He tells ET Canada, "We’re just good friends. She’s a great person, and I am happy to have her in my life. She gives me a lot of great advice, and she is very talented."

He was asked if fans could expect a duet between him and Ri-Ri and his response was a chuckle and "Maybe someday."

It’s getting harder and harder to tell what the truth is, which I guess is his plan. Do you buys think there’s something between him and Rihanna?
