Check out a few videos of Rihanna performing some of her biggest hits at the 2008 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, La. The above video of her giving a very sultry performance of “Unfaithful,” which had the whole crowd singing along. The New Orleans Super Dome hold over 50,000 people, largest in U.S. and she didn’t seem phased at all. She is a great performer.

Rihanna Rocks the 2008 Essence Music Fest

Rihanna was a show stopper at the 2008 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, La. Guess who was there to see all? ME!! Yes, your girl was right there to catch her show live and in person. I was definitely looking forward to seeing her rock the stage and she did just that.
Hitting the stage in a adorable lace party-style dress and lace gloves, Rihanna performed her big hits from “Pon De Replay” to “Umbrella.” She even had a break were she sung some of her favorite hits from M.I.A. and Lauryn Hill, which did very well. As you can see in the pictures above, she rocked out tossing her hair and kicking up her lace-up boots.
I was very impressed and a bit shocked that her set was shorter than I thought. I’ll be posting videos of her actual performance, so look out for those!

LaBeouf teased over Rihanna rumours…

Shia LaBeouf has revealed that his friends constantly sang ‘Umbrella’ to him when he was rumoured to be dating Rihanna.
LaBeouf was spotted having dinner with the singer last August, sparking speculation that they were an item.
Despite denying reports of a romance, the Transformers star admitted that his pals took pleasure in teasing him with their renditions of her biggest hit.
He told GQ: “My friends were like, ‘Are you serious, bro? Why didn’t you tell me about that?’ I was like, ‘I really don’t know her like that.’
“For weeks they were singing that ‘Umbrella’ song everywhere I walked. And those are my people!”
LaBeouf, who plays Harrison Ford’s sidekick in the new Indiana Jones movie, recently claimed that women are his favourite vice.

Rihanna’s Barbados Getaway

Ever since her surge to the top of the charts, Rihanna has had little time to sit down and and take a break from it all.
But the Umbrella singer is doing just that, as she recently decided to spend a few days back home in Barbados for a friend’s wedding.
The 19-year-old beauty made the trip on Wednesday, the day after her House of Blues show in Los Angeles. On October 30th, Rihanna returns to the stage for a lone show in San Jose, followed by two weeks off to prepare for a lengthy European tour beginning on the 11th of November.
No regrets for Blige for missing out on ‘Umbrella’
Rihanna’s summer smash-hit ‘Umbrella’ was originally intended for Mary J Blige, it has been revealed.
The ‘Family Affair’ singer was offered the song at the beginning of the year - but she was too busy to record it.
“The song was recorded for me… and it was during the Grammy time and I was really, really busy,” she said. “I heard it and I thought: ‘Oh my goodness, that’s a smash. I love this song’.”
But Blige insists she loves Rihanna’s version of the song.
“She’s such a beautiful lady and I love her to death,” she said.
“I was so glad that she caught it and knocked it out of the park. It’s still one of my favourite songs today.”
